Close a period
What closing an accounting period means, in what order and what's needed first, and why it can't be undone.
Closing a period locks it: nothing can be issued, recorded or posted with a date in that period any more. That way what was filed with the AEAT doesn't change afterwards.
In Periods, press Close period on the next open period.
Before closing
- Periods are closed in order: earlier ones first.
- The period's tax returns must be reviewed, with no changes since the review (see Form 303).
If something is missing, NaPa tells you what.
It can't be undone
NaPa warns you before closing, because closing is final. Many companies reserve this task to their accounting firm: then only the firm can close.
